LUCENA CITY — Sea travel in the northern part of Quezon province was suspended starting Wednesday due to rough sea conditions, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.
In an advisory posted on its Facebook page around 6 a.m., the PCG-Northern Quezon station based in Real town cited the 5 a.m. bulletin by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) of prevailing strong gale-force winds associated with the northeast monsoon.
Article continues after this advertisementThe strong winds may cause huge waves that are expected to affect the coastal town of General Nakar, the northern and eastern coast of Polillo Islands, northern Patnanungan, northeastern Burdeos, and northern and eastern Jomalig.

The suspension order would be lifted and sea travel for small seacraft may be resumed any time when the weather improves, the PCG said.
