Opening the doors of her expansive $38 million mansion, actress Angelina Jolie has offered refuge to friends who have been displaced by the raging wildfires in Los Angeles. 

With the fires wreaking havoc across the county, over 180,000 residents have been forced to flee their homes and countless others have witnessed their properties go up in flames.

The blazes, which began on Jan. 7, have become the deadliest and most destructive in the city’s history.

With the latest Santa Ana winds behind them, firefighters worked Thursday to extend containment of the Eaton and Palisades fires.

Conditions have improved, but authorities said it could still be more than a week until most evacuated residents are permitted to return home.

Amid the crisis, the Hollywood actress has stepped forward with an outpouring of support for those affected, including providing shelter to close friends who had to evacuate.

According to People, a source close to the actress shared that she is “heartbroken” by the destruction caused by the fires. 

Sitting at wooden benches, men and women stack tobacco leaves in one hand –- the components must be dry but soft, like the velvety texture of leather.

“She’s doing everything she can to help, even opening her home to friends who were forced to evacuate,” the source explained. Jolie herself spoke about her priorities, revealing in a video obtained by Daily Mail: “I will [make donations, but] right now I’m taking care of people close to me and having them at my house.”

Her residence, a 11,000-square-foot Beaux-Arts estate in Los Feliz, was once owned by Hollywood legend Cecil B. DeMille. Jolie bought the property in 2017 after her split from actor Brad Pitt, with whom she finalized her divorce in December 2024.

Despite the magnitude of the crisis, she is focused on providing immediate relief to those around her. As she told reporters outside a grocery store in Los Angeles, “Yeah, we’re having people at our house.”

As Los Angeles continues to struggle with the effects of the fires, organizations and individuals alike have been stepping up to offer help.

Donations have become a crucial source of aid, as thousands of families are left in limbo, unable to return to their homes or even assess the damage.
