As the row over Amit Shah's remarks for Dr BR Ambedkar continues, tthe proceedings of the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha have been adjourned for the day.

Earlier in the day, leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi has alleged that BJP MPs are blocking entry into the parliament.

Speaking to reporters outside the Parliament complex, the Congress leader said that BJP MPs stopped, pushed and threatened Gandhi.

"I was trying to go inside through the Parliament entrance, BJP MPs were trying to stop me, push me and threaten me. So this happened...," Gandhi told reporters. He also added that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge was also pushed by BJP MPs.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has filed a privilege motion against Home Minister Amit Shah and his comments against Ambedkar. In the notice, the Congress leader has said that "such conduct by Home minister tantamount to breach of privilege, contempt of House."

BJP president and Health minister JP Nadda has accused the Congress party of "lying". Launching a fresh attack on the Congress on Thursday, the ruling party's president asked the opposition party to "stop lying".

As the row continues to escalate, RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav has also taken ajibe at Amit Shah, calling the BJP leader "mad".

Speaking to reporters, the RJD leader said - "Amit Shah has gone mad. He must have hatred for Babasaheb Ambedkar. We condemn this madness of his. Babasaheb Ambedkar is great. He should resign and leave politics."
