MANILA, Philippines — A sting operation in Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa City on Friday led to the arrest of two suspects and the confiscation of illegal drugs and explosives.

The suspects, identified only as alias “Jhan,” 34, and alias “Malyn,” 31, were apprehended at 1:25 p.m. by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Muntinlupa City Police Station.

During the operation, authorities seized 25 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P170,000.

They also recovered an M26 hand grenade from the suspects’ possession.

"We enroll them among the saints, decreeing that they are to be venerated as such by the whole Church," proclaimed Francis, after reciting each name.

The confiscated drug evidence has been submitted to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit for qualitative and quantitative analysis.

The suspects are facing charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002hoya88, and RA 9516, which penalizes illegal possession of explosives.
